DIVISION OF EVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SCIENCES

Human Ecology
In the department, we examine how the regional environment has been changed
due to various human activities such as urbanization or land development, and
how those changes exert influences on human health and lives. Furthermore, we
conduct research on ways to keep our environment intact so as to improve our
standard of living and health.

Environmental Physiology

We analyze the physiological effect of smell, color, and air temperature on
people. In doing so, we aim to develop a standard method for the evaluation of
environmental conditions. Furthermore, we elucidate the mechanism regulating
how we adapt ourselves to changing surroundings.

Biometeorology

Inland basin climate is characteristic of Yamanashi Prefecture which is surrounded
by mountains. We analyze how high atmospheric temperature due to the green-
house effect affects our health.
